DD404P-264 or DD404P264 is a 404 differential carrier assembly with ratio 264. The carrier holds the gearing that splits driveline power between the two axle shafts and lets each wheel turn at its own speed in a corner. A worn one usually makes itself known: a whine that changes with road speed, or grinding and rumbling in turns, can point to worn pinion or carrier bearings or damaged spider gears.
