The DD404P-325 or DD404P325 is a 404 differential carrier assembly at ratio 325. The carrier holds the gearset that drives the axle shafts and lets the left and right wheels turn at different speeds in a corner. When a differential wears, it tends to show itself as a whine under acceleration, a whirr on deceleration that points to pinion bearing position, or banging and clunking when gears are broken.
