The Bendix EXK128914ORX or K128914OR is an M-40HF ABS modulator valve for air brake systems. It is an electro-pneumatic valve that sits between the ABS controller and the brake air, and during an ABS event its solenoids and diaphragm valves hold, release and reapply air to the brake actuators far faster than a driver could pump the pedal. That keeps the wheel from locking under hard braking and helps the truck stay steerable and stable. The high-flow design moves air quickly through its supply, delivery and exhaust ports.
An ABS warning light, uneven or dragging brakes, slow release or air bleeding from the exhaust port can point to a failing valve.
