The Bendix 065605 is an AD-9 air dryer with standard purge volume, a DLU purge valve and a 24V/75W heater. An air dryer pulls moisture, fine particles and oil mist out of the compressed air before it reaches the brake system. Air passes through a desiccant cartridge that soaks up water, then stored dry air is sent back through the desiccant to carry that water out the exhaust. A saturated desiccant shows as heavy water at the tank drains and brake lines that freeze in cold weather, while a purge that runs long or never fires points to the purge valve.
