Bendix 245334 Diaphragm is an air brake chamber diaphragm. It is the flexible membrane inside the chamber: air pressure acts on it, it moves forward with a smooth rolling motion, and that drives the push rod that applies the brake. When air is released, the chamber spring returns the diaphragm and push rod to the released position, so a sound diaphragm is what lets the brake apply and release cleanly. Missing dust plugs or loose clamps let water and dirt into the chamber, which can attack the diaphragm. A genuine Bendix part from Pro Gear and Transmission.
