Bendix K049776 quick release valve, QRN type, for air brake systems. A quick release valve vents air out of the brake actuators it serves faster than the brake line alone could, so the brakes let go promptly once the driver lets off the pedal. A flexible diaphragm does the sealing: supply pressure pushes it to close the exhaust and open the delivery ports, and when pressure drops the air dumps out of the valve's own exhaust port near the chambers.
