The K182492 Bendix automatic slack adjuster takes up brake lining wear on its own, keeping the gap between lining and drum where it belongs so the force from the air chamber still reaches the shoes. It turns the brake camshaft as the chamber pushrod strokes and trims clearance in small steps during normal braking, so it does not need resetting by hand.
