The Bendix 317781 is a spider assembly for brakes. In a drum brake, the spider is the stationary mounting base: the brake shoes pivot on the anchor pin seated in it, and the camshaft support mounts to it, with the actuating cam pushing the other ends of the shoes out against the drum. Because everything in the brake works off that plate, the spider has to stay sound for the shoes and cam to line up. A genuine Bendix part from Pro Gear and Transmission.
