Bendix 802609 is a genuine Bendix disc spring brake, T18/16, sold by Pro Gear and Transmission. A spring brake chamber is not applied by air the way a service chamber is. A heavy coil spring applies the brake when air leaves the chamber, and air pressure holds the spring back to release it. That makes it the parking brake and also the emergency brake if the service brakes fail or air is lost.
