The Chelsea 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series PTO platform, developed to address vibrational effects from modern engine designs. Markets served include fire and rescue, truck cranes, pumper/cleaner, and refuse vehicles. An Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) option protects driven equipment from overspeed events. A wet spline lubrication option (W) is available and provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life compared to standard lubrication. Nine speed ratios are available across the series, including both low- and high-speed options.
