The Chelsea 288 Series Power Take-Off (part number 288GKFJP-M5XD or 288GKFJPM5XD) is a 10-bolt, constant mesh PTO built on the 281 Series platform and designed for heavy-duty truck applications including refuse, aerial, vacuum, and snow and ice work. Wider gears and larger-capacity bearings support a single continuous duty torque rating of up to 390 lb-ft. The cast iron housing and ductile iron bearing caps, 117% stronger than gray iron, are paired with an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and resist vibration from modern engine designs. Nine speed ratios span both low and high ranges. The standard output features a round shaft with a 1-1/4-inch key and a positive stop that protects the oil seal from driveline coupling damage.
