The 288 Series delivers a single continuous duty torque rating of up to 390 lb-ft, with wider gears and larger-capacity bearings than the 287 Series it replaces. Ductile iron bearing caps are 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load while reducing the damaging vibrational effects of modern engine designs. The standard output shaft features a positive stop for driveline outputs, eliminating oil seal damage from shaft couplings. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speed needs.
