The Chelsea 489ERLDX-V4XK or 489ERLDXV4XK is a 489 Series Power Take-Off designed for 8-bolt manual transmission openings, including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission, eliminating the adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. This series uses wire/cable mechanical shift and features a 1-1/4" round keyed output shaft. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. The Chelsea 489 Series supports eleven internal speed ratios and twenty-seven output configurations, including a 360-degree rotatable flange with greaseable shaft to reduce pump shaft spline fretting and corrosion. Common applications for this series include utility trucks, dump trucks, aerial equipment, snow and ice removal vehicles, and fire and rescue apparatus. Internal components are shared with the Chelsea 442 Series, simplifying parts inventory for shops already familiar with that platform.
