The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489KFAHX-S3XD or 489KFAHXS3XD, is an 8-bolt PTO designed for most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec. The integral 8-bolt cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening without an adapter plate, eliminating one potential leak path and reducing mounting time. This unit uses a wire/cable mechanical shift and features tapered bearings for greater load capacity than needle-bearing designs. Output is through a 1-1/4" round keyed shaft. Intermittent torque rating for the 489 Series runs 201 to 300 lb-ft. Typical applications include utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles.
