The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XCAHX-S3RK or 489XCAHXS3RK, is an 8-bolt mechanical shift PTO designed for most manual transmissions, including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec. The integral one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series ranges from 201 to 300 lb-ft. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with key. Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The Chelsea 489 Series PTO fits a broad range of vocational and municipal equipment applications, including utility trucks, dump trucks and trailers, snow and ice removal vehicles, and fire and rescue apparatus. The 489 Series features tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability.
