The Chelsea 221XLDAX-A3XQ (also referenced as 221XLDAXA3XQ) is a 221 Series Power Take-Off assembly built for low-speed, heavy-duty applications such as dump trucks, tow and recovery equipment, and aerial units. It mounts via a 6-bolt pattern and shifts by wire/cable mechanical actuation. The 1-1/4" round output shaft (with keyway option) delivers up to 250 lb-ft intermittent torque (verify actual rating on the application page). Shaft power output is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Compatible transmission manufacturers include Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, Hino, and others. The cast iron housing is available in standard or low-profile configurations. Call us to confirm proper fit for your application.

The 221 Series uses a cast iron housing with tapered cone output bearings for strong load-bearing capability under sustained heavy-duty cycling. The 360-degree rotatable flange option and three internal speed ratios give this series flexibility across aerial, vocational, municipal, and tow/recovery installations. Continuous operation is supported with a 30% de-rating applied to the intermittent torque rating. A self-lube option is available for transmissions that have difficulty delivering lubrication to the PTO mount.
