The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 272RDKUP-B3BD or 272RDKUPB3BD, is a 6-bolt hot-shift PTO designed for medium-duty truck applications in towing and recovery, aerial, construction, and water truck markets. It features a 1-1/4" round output shaft with a 5/16" key and shifts via pneumatic air switch or hydraulic PowerShift. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm), with intermittent torque rated at 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). Output power is 56+ HP (41-50 kW). The 272 Series consolidates multiple earlier Chelsea PTO series into one versatile platform with rotatable flanges, an integral air control valve, a wet-spline option for extended component life, and Smart-Start capability for high-torque engagement.
