The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates six earlier Chelsea PTO series - the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 - into a single medium-duty platform. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options, giving it broad fitment flexibility across transmission types. Direct-mount configurations are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart Start option, designed for high-torque start-up conditions where initial load is elevated. Rotatable flanges allow installation flexibility at the mounting face. The 272 Series is used in aerial lift, towing and recovery, construction equipment, and water truck markets.
