The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GBFJW-G8RY or 281GBFJWG8RY, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison transmissions. An evolution of the 280 Series, the 281 Series upgrades the bearing cap to ductile iron rated 117% stronger than gray iron and increases clutch pack steel disc thickness by 80% to resist premature tooth wear. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces vibrational effects from modern engine designs. Nine speed ratios cover low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a positive stop on driveline outputs prevents oil seal damage.
