The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GCFJP-B8RS or 281GCFJPB8RS, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly used on Allison transmissions. It is an evolution of the 280 Series, with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and steel clutch pack discs that are 80% thicker to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high-speed operation. The Wet Spline lubrication option extends shaft life 7 to 10 times compared to standard configurations. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) and the optional SmartStart feature reduce shock load at engagement.
