The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off (part number 281GCFJP-E5XV or 281GCFJPE5XV) is a hydraulically shifted, hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar units. It carries a single, continuous duty torque rating and offers nine speed ratios covering both low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibrational effects while improving clamp load. The clutch pack uses steel discs that are 80% thicker than the previous generation, resisting premature tooth wear. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce pump clearance interference, and a Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs protects oil seals. The optional Wet Spline Lubrication delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. SmartStart reduces shock load at start-up, and Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) safeguards driven equipment.
