The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GDFJW-N5RY or 281GDFJWN5RY, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly fitted to Allison transmissions. The 281 Series evolves directly from the proven 280 Series with several targeted upgrades: a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and reduce vibrational effects, and an 80% increase in clutch pack steel disc thickness to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges, and the optional Wet Spline Lubrication configuration delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life.
