281GGFJP-B5XR Chelsea PTO Assembly

The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GGFJP-B5XR or 281GGFJPB5XR, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly used on Allison transmissions. It is the direct evolution of the proven 280 Series, carrying forward its top-selling foundation with targeted engineering upgrades. The clutch pack uses steel discs that are 80% thicker than the previous generation to resist premature tooth wear. A ductile iron bearing cap replaces the gray iron unit, delivering 117% greater strength. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces the damaging vibrational effects associated with modern engine designs. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speed requirements, and a Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce pump clearance interference, and the Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling contact. SmartStart reduces shock load at start-up for applicable configurations, and Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects driven equipment.
