The Chelsea 282 Series PTO Assembly, part number 282XDAJP-P3XD or 282XDAJPP3XD, is a medium-duty hot-shift power take-off built for demanding continuous-duty cycles. It mounts via an 8-bolt pattern and accepts pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) actuation, giving fleets flexibility in shift-system integration. The 1-1/4" round output shaft uses a 5/16" key drive. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm); intermittent torque is rated 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). Direct-mount configurations support the optional wet-spline lubrication system for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include a positive stop to protect seals from yoke over-insertion. The Smart Start option assists with high-torque engagement. Rotatable flanges allow output orientation to suit the installation. The 282 Series supersedes and incorporates the best elements of the earlier Chelsea 238 Series design.
