The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XQITX-A3XD or 489XQITXA3XD, is an 8-bolt PTO designed for manual transmissions including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with key. Intermittent torque rating for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm); shaft power is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load capacity. Applications include utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue.
