The Chelsea 489 Series PTO Assembly, part number 489XRITX-A3XD or 489XRITXA3XD, is a wire/cable mechanical-shift power take-off designed for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt mounting aperture, including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec gearboxes. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, eliminating the adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Output is through a 1-1/4" round shaft (with key option), and shaft power ranges from 24 HP at 500 RPM to 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The 489 Series carries the same 250 lb-ft torque capacity as the 442 Series and uses tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability.
