The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XSAHX-A3AZ or 489XSAHXA3AZ, is an 8-bolt PTO designed for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo, Mack, and others with an 8-bolt mounting aperture. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Shift is accomplished via wire/cable mechanical actuation. The 1-1/4" round output shaft (with key) is rated for intermittent torque in the 201-300 lb-ft range; continuous-duty ratings require a 30% de-rate - consult the application pages for actual torque values. Shaft power runs 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
