Fabco 306-40-5 is the disconnect shift shaft in the Advance 306 transfer case. Our factory parts list puts it in the 306-02 disconnect components group, one per assembly, where it carries the disconnect shift fork and moves the disconnect shift collar along the disconnect output shaft to engage or release the drive. The air side of that group, the shift cylinder, cap, piston and return spring, works against this shaft, and the shift signal switch reads its position through a steel ball.
