The Fabco 355-90-7 or 355907 is a straight fitting with a 1/4 NPT thread on one side and a #4 JIC connection on the other, with a .062 orifice built in. The orifice limits how much fluid can pass through the line, which lets a circuit be metered or calmed down and helps damp pressure spikes.
Because the opening is small, it is sensitive to contamination, and a partly plugged orifice changes how the circuit responds.
