The bracket gives the brake chamber a rigid mounting point on the axle, so the chamber stays put and the brake works as it should. It is a genuine Meritor part with a 90 degree bracket angle, a 7.57 in. bracket length and a 0.44 in. wing thickness, so you can check those against your old bracket before you order.
