A3-3376T20 Meritor air brake chamber assembly is a Type 20 chamber with a 2.25 in. stroke. Air pressure pushes a flexible diaphragm that drives the pushrod and applies the brake at the wheel, and when the air is released a return spring brings the pushrod back so the brake lets go.
A leaking diaphragm cuts braking effectiveness, and a ruptured one can leave that wheel with no useful braking at all. Replace chambers in pairs across an axle so brake balance stays even. The chamber is listed in the Meritor steer axle assemblies MFS14143ANK2, FH946KX9 and FH946KX6.
