B63-3276X24 Meritor air brake chamber assembly is a spring brake chamber, engineered to OEM specs and listed in Meritor's combination units group. A spring brake chamber pairs a service section for everyday braking with a spring section behind it for parking and emergency braking.
The spring section holds the brake on by spring force instead of air, so the brake applies on its own if system air is lost. In the service section, air pressure pushes a diaphragm and pushrod out to apply the brake. A leaking diaphragm reduces braking effectiveness.
