The R002460 Meritor spindle nut is the outer nut for drive axle wheel ends. It uses a 2-5/8"-12 thread with a matching 2-5/8 in. inside diameter, so it threads onto spindles cut for that size. The 3-1/2 in. hex takes a standard wheel bearing nut socket, and the 1 in. thickness keeps the stack height consistent when you reassemble the wheel end.
