E7765 Meritor Wear Plate is a repair plate made for all Chalmers walking beams. It is welded onto the beam end once wear against the saddle has taken the beam down, but only while the beam is worn no more than 1/16 in. Beyond 1/16 in. the beam has to be replaced rather than plated.
The plate rebuilds the surface that bears on the saddle, so the beam keeps riding where it should. Welding is work for a qualified shop. A worn or cracked beam left in service can break at the end and cost the driver control of the truck. Call us to confirm proper fit for your application.
