Muncie TG8B-U6808-A1PW or TG8BU6808A1PW is a TG Series power take-off (PTO) with an 8-bolt housing and mechanical shift. The TG is a double-gear PTO built around a die-cast aluminum housing, a constant mesh input gear and an extra large shift cover opening for checking backlash.
Like any double-gear PTO, it picks up drive from a gear in the transmission and passes it out through the output shaft to run auxiliary equipment. When a unit comes out for service, uneven wear on the gears, rough or pitted bearings and oil leaks at the housing are the things to look for.
