TG8D-S6807-P1KX or TG8DS6807P1KX is a Muncie TG8 Series PTO, an 8-bolt, mechanical shift power take-off in a die-cast aluminum housing. It runs off a transmission gear through a constant mesh input gear and passes that power to auxiliary equipment such as a hydraulic pump. The TG Series is built in a modular layout for flexibility and ease of repair, with an extra large shift cover opening that makes it easy to check backlash and hydraulic flanges that rotate to clear the pump.
Listen to a PTO in service. A high-pitched whine usually points to too little gear clearance or a tired bearing, and a rattle points to too much clearance, so a change in sound is worth checking.
