The Muncie TG8S-M6507-A3IX or TG8SM6507A3IX is a TG8 Series power take-off with an 8-bolt housing and mechanical shift, offered as a genuine Muncie part by Pro Gear and Transmission. Muncie builds the TG Series as a double-gear unit in a die-cast aluminum housing, which lowers weight and noise and dissipates heat. The constant mesh input gear stays engaged with the transmission, so the PTO can be shifted in and out without disturbing the transmission gears. The extra large shift cover opening allows easy access to check backlash.
In service, a whine usually points to gears set too tight, which loads the idler shaft and bearings. A chattering noise points to too much play and can ease off at higher engine speed or under load. Call us to confirm proper fit for your application.
