Muncie TG8S-M6507-P2KX or TG8SM6507P2KX is a TG8 Series PTO, an 8-bolt mechanical shift power take-off using Muncie's double-gear layout. Its die-cast aluminum housing keeps the unit lighter and quieter and moves heat away well, and the extra large shift cover opening gives easy access when checking backlash. The input gear stays in constant mesh with the transmission, so shifting takes place inside the PTO and the transmission is spared from engagement errors. Once installed, a whine tends to mean the gear mesh is too tight, and a chatter that fades with higher engine speed or load tends to mean it is too loose.
