Muncie TG8S-U6809-P3KK or TG8SU6809P3KK is a TG Series 8-bolt, mechanical shift power take-off (PTO), a genuine Muncie part sold by Pro Gear and Transmission. The TG Series is a double-gear design. A constant mesh input gear protects the transmission when the unit is engaged, and the die-cast aluminum case keeps weight and noise down while shedding heat well.
A power take-off draws power off the engine by way of the transmission and sends it into a separate gearbox, which then spins pumps and other work equipment on the truck. On a mechanically shifted unit the driving gear has to be stopped before the unit is shifted in.
