This coolant surge tank fits Navistar 5000, 8000, and 9000 Series trucks as well as ProStar models, and is also compatible with certain Mack applications. Mounted above the radiator in the cooling circuit, it holds excess coolant and expelled air, giving the system room for thermal expansion and a point to release trapped air before it reaches the water pump. It is built as an aftermarket replacement for the OEM tank.
