The Chelsea 282XGAJX-15RZ is a 282 Series medium-duty hot shift Power Take-Off featuring an 8-bolt mounting pattern and a choice of pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) actuation. The 282 Series is rated for intermittent torque of 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm) and delivers up to 57 HP at 1,000 RPM. Output shaft options in the series include a 1-1/4" round shaft with 5/16" key and a 1" round shaft with 1/4" key. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options, with rotatable flanges and an integral air valve. The 282 Series was developed as a redesign of Chelsea's medium-duty hot shift PTO line, combining the 238 Series platform with upgraded moving parts to support continuous-duty torque applications. The series targets aerial equipment, construction equipment, water trucks, towing and recovery, and home fuel oil delivery trucks. Direct mount configurations include an optional Wet-Spline feature for longer PTO and pump shaft life. Driveshaft output configurations include a positive stop to prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes. A Smart Start option is available for high-torque start-up situations.
