The Chelsea 288GSFJP-M8RK is a 10-bolt, constant mesh Power Take-Off from the Chelsea 288 Series, built on the proven 281 Series platform. The 288 Series carries a continuous duty torque rating of up to 390 lb-ft and features ductile iron bearing caps, which are 117% stronger than the gray iron caps used in its predecessor, the 287 Series. An o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and helps reduce the effects of vibration from modern engine designs. The output shaft includes a positive stop for driveline outputs, which eliminates oil seal damage from shaft couplings. A round shaft output with a 1-inch, 1/4-inch key configuration is standard across the 288 Series. Common markets served include refuse, vacuum, aerial, and snow and ice applications.

Additional Information
The Chelsea 288 Series replaces the earlier 287 Series PTO. Improvements include ductile iron bearing caps rated 117% stronger than the gray iron caps on the prior generation, along with an updated o-ring sealing configuration that reduces vibrational effects and improves housing-to-bearing-cap clamp load. Wet Spline technology is available for the 288 Series, providing a continuous flow of oil through the PTO and pump shaft to prevent premature spline fretting, with shaft life improvement of 7 to 10 times compared to non-lubricated configurations. Rotatable cast iron flanges reduce interference issues during installation.
