Built on the 281 Series foundation, the 288 Series delivers a single continuous duty torque rating across nine speed ratios covering low and high ranges. The output shaft is a 1-inch round shaft with 1/4-inch key and includes a positive-stop design to prevent oil seal damage from shaft couplings. Ductile iron bearing caps replace the predecessor gray iron caps and are 117% stronger. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibrational effects and improves clamp load.
