The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XFAHX-S3XR or 489XFAHXS3XR, is a mechanical-shift PTO built for 8-bolt manual transmission openings on vehicles such as Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec gearboxes. The one-piece cast-iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt aperture, eliminating the adapter plate and its associated leak path. The series carries an intermittent torque rating of 201-300 lb-ft and delivers shaft power of 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Output is through a 1-1/4" round keyed shaft. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for improved load-bearing capacity. Chelsea internal parts are common to the 442 Series, simplifying service.
