The Chelsea 899UFFJW-M5XS or 899UFFJWM5XS is a constant-mesh power take-off from the Chelsea 899 Series, engineered specifically for Allison 4700 Series transmissions. The 899 Series design relocates the pump mounting flange to the rear of the transmission, giving extra pump clearance in tight chassis installations. It uses a 10-bolt mounting configuration and an SAE C 1-1/4"-14T wet-spline pump output shaft. Wet Spline Technology lubricates the output interface to extend the service life of both the PTO and the mating pump shaft under demanding, continuous-duty conditions. The Chelsea 899 Series is a single-unit PTO, not a PTO-plus-extension assembly. The one-piece main shaft design removes the input splines that would otherwise sit between the PTO body and the output extension, reducing potential leak and wear points. The unit mounts at the side of the transmission in the standard side-mount position and is supported by an additional bracket at the rear of the transmission. The 899 Series can be configured for transmissions equipped with or without an oil cooler or retarder.
