The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GBFJP-B3SD or 281GBFJPB3SD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. An evolution of the 280 Series, the 281 Series upgrades the bearing cap to ductile iron for 117% greater strength over gray iron. The clutch pack features steel discs that are 80% thicker than the previous design, directly addressing tooth wear caused by modern engine vibration profiles. An o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load. Nine speed ratios cover both low- and high-speed applications, and a Wet Spline Lubrication option is available for extended shaft life. Sold by Pro Gear and Transmission.
