The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 281GBFJP-D5XD or 281GBFJPD5XD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. The 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series, with a ductile iron bearing cap that is 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load, and an 80% thicker clutch pack steel disc design to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speeds. The wet spline lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and the positive stop for driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling. SmartStart reduces shock load at start-up, and Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects driven equipment.
