The Chelsea 281GDFJP-E8XD or 281GDFJPE8XD is a hydraulically shifted, hot-shift power take-off from the Chelsea 281 Series, designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture including Allison and Caterpillar applications. The 281 Series evolved directly from the proven 280 Series platform, adding a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to resist vibration and improve clamp load, and an 80% thicker clutch pack for reduced tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. Rotatable cast iron flanges improve pump clearance, and a Positive Stop on driveline outputs prevents oil seal damage.
