The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GDFJP-G5RB or 281GDFJPG5RB, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly found on Allison transmissions. It mounts on applications in fire and rescue, refuse, truck cranes, and pumper/cleaner trucks. The 281 Series advances on the proven 280 Series design with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap, and steel clutch pack discs 80% thicker than the previous generation. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speed operation. Wet spline lubrication is available and provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life.
