The Chelsea 281GDFJP-G5SD or 281GDFJPG5SD is a hydraulically shifted, hot-shift power take-off from the Chelsea 281 Series, engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar units. The 281 Series is an evolution of the proven 280 Series, incorporating a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and clutch pack steel discs that are 80% thicker than the predecessor design. Nine speed ratios span both low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference issues at pump mounting. A Wet Spline Lubrication option provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) and SmartStart are available to protect driven equipment and reduce start-up shock loads.
